Susan Lake has been a major contributor to San Diego’s visual and performing arts community. Susan Lakes experience, standard of excellence and outstanding artistic talents have made her a sought after Artistic Director, Producer and Project Developer. Susan’s expertise and knowledge of the Tango, has led her to be invited to speak at such renowned arts centers as Escondido Center for the Arts and Mary Birch, North Park Theater, in San Diego California where she lectured before the opening of TANGO PASION and the 2008 production of TANGO FIRE.

Susan Lake is a multi-talented visual and performing artist residing in San Diego and Palm Springs California. Susan has received numerous awards and recognitions for her “Wearable Art” headwear designs and is a sought after speaker and fashion show producer. She has created hats for socialites and celebrities as well as private collections and museum shows.

Susan Lake’s incredible designs are a product of her contribution to the dance world. Creating architectural shapes and sizes and the use of vibrant colors, she takes her inspiration for her designs from her dance choreographies! Susan’s reputation and history as a designer, choreographer, performer, artistic director and producer has made her a leader in the Arts community throughout San Diego and Southern California.

In July 2009 Susan was featured on CNN en Espanol's Detalles Con Sasha highliting notable Southern California artists. She has also appeared on numerous San Diego and Palm Springs news stations. Susan's hats have been photographed by New York photographer Seth Sabal, and this year her hats and original production of, “TANGOLICIOUS”….Fashion and Tango! was presented in the Center Museum, at the Escondido Center for the Arts, during Fashion Week.

The name Susan Lake and the Argentine tango are well known and respected in San Diego and throughout Southern California. She is the creator of the TANGO BALL, held in San Diego for nine years and producer of the International Argentine Tango Showcase Competition. Susan is currently the Artistic Director for TANGOCENTRIC dance project, in residence at Stage 7 School of Dance in North Park. Her experience as a writer, speaker, director and producer, have made her a sought after guest for many visual and performing Arts events.

Susan has been a featured guest on the KUSI local morning news station in San Diego, California where she promoted the TANGO BALL of which she produced for eight years and as featured Headwear Designer for OPENING DAY, Del Mar Race Track.
